Joe Dalum founded Odyne Systems, LLC, a leader in the electrification of medium and heavy-duty trucks. He has served as President and CEO since 2009. He has over 30 years of experience in the automotive and truck industries and has lead company growth through a collaborative and entrepreneurial team effort. He successfully helped to establish corporate strategic relationships, attract new growth capital, and launch innovative products.Dalum has extensive experience in managing projects and bringing new technology from initial concept into high volume production. He has been granted 24 U.S. utility patents in the area of automotive, and vehicle electrification technology. Dalum has developed technology for electric vehicles, battery management, powertrain/chassis electrification, and energy storage systems.A strong proponent of increased fuel efficiency for medium and heavy-duty trucks, Dalum provided testimony before the U.S. Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources and the Committee on Science and Technology, U.S. House of Representatives in support of expanded use of electrification systems. He served on the Board of Directors for the Green Truck Association (GTA) and as President of the GTA. He also served on the Board of the Electric Drive Transportation Association.Prior to becoming president of Odyne, Dalum helped to manage a large final-stage manufacturer of medium and heavy-duty vehicles for over 10 years in roles of increasing responsibility; leadership positions included Engineering Manager, Executive Vice President, and Member of the Board of Directors. Dalum also worked for General Motors and Delphi for over 12 years on domestic and international programs for leading auto manufacturers.Dalum earned his bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame, and a Master of Business Administration from the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University.
