Led the on-going evolution of one of the largest Internet learning platforms, including sustaining system activities and new product development.Operated an organization of nearly 1,000 software, QA and system engineers worldwide in multiple sites and geographies. Responsible for 6 corporate owned data centers and hybrid cloud deployments with multiple vendors. Managed a budget of over $180 million for hardware, software, personnel and consulting.Led the organization through multiple transformations including: enhanced data center architectures for improved availability, widespread adoption of agile SDLC and engineering best practices, 30% growth in engineering capacity, implementation of world-wide development centers, and implemented sophisticated testing and data center automation capabilities.Provided engineering and operations leadership across 400 enterprise systems (ERPs for HR, Finance, CRM, etc.) and consumer / student Internet applications (including eLearning, Social, Content Management and Mobile platforms). • Developed the business plan, marketing strategy and technical architecture for the company’s second-generation product line (client apps, server apps, ASP/SaaS-hosted delivery model and associated consulting services) to drive new growth in the very early days of the broadband telecommunications market. • Led the 25-person engineering and marketing team to implement the new GIS (geographical information systems) using a n-tier, component-based architecture in Oracle, C++, IIS, VB, and ASP. System was used by telecommunication providers to build the broadband Internet.

• Led team of 8 in the design and implementation of a digital video editing and special effects system for TV and motion pictures (application, database, and hardware driver code). Wrote much of the application in C++ using object-oriented design practices.• Defined product features, architecture, and test plans and data.• Wrote the API and end-user documentation for the system.• One of the founders of the company. Participated in the development of the business plan through the University of Arizona Entrepreneurship program, and a key contributor to achieving funding necessary to launch the business.
