I am responsible for the US development teams at Fictiv. I guide the engineering managers towards successful project planning and execution, providing value to the business. I work closely with our product managers to coordinate project scope and scheduling as well as cross-team coordination across multiple departments. I provide architectural guidance over our API backend and review all technical designs. I mentor our engineers to provide technical guidance and job satisfaction.

As a Staff Software Engineer I was responsible for mentoring the teams and assisting with any technical challenges related to Node.js and the AWS infrastructure. I participated in hiring panels as the teams grew and assisted with hiring the first developers for our India office. Other responsibilities included being the architect for out GraphQL based backend and creating and updating processes and procedures to set the standards for the engineers.

Joined as the first full time engineer responsible for the back end APIs and infrastructure utilizing Node.js and AWS. As the first employee outside of the founders, I was responsible for all parts of the application’s development and operations. I grew the team to include additional frontend and backend developers, as well as the first mobile SDK developer. Scaled the system up to support 20x traffic growth to support our first large enterprise customers.I assisted in pre-sales demos and handled the security and compliance interactions with our enterprise customers.

As a member of the executive team, I worked with the other executives and investors to guide the technical architecture and feature set of the Woebot platform. Responsible for the infrastructure and backend architecture of Woebot. I oversaw the team that was responsible for our Node.js backend and NLP infrastructure.

Managed and grew the engineering team to help build a helpful and thoughtful chatbot named Woebot. The team is responsible for our Node.js backend, mobile clients, and NLP services. Guided the development of the Woebot the mobile app on iOS and Android.

Worked on customer custom development projects as both a Team Lead and Team Member. Typical projects were ASP.NET MVC websites with SQL Server backends. Many of the projects had rich client side functionality utilizing Knockout.js. I also assisted in the management and configuration of our Continuous Integration environment for all client projects. I implemented automated JavaScript unit testing and code coverage using Karma, Qunit and PhantomJS within our CI server running TeamCity. Several projects integrated with enterprise products such as Microsoft CRM 2011,Microsoft GP, and Sage Saleslogix.All projects were run using Agile methodologies which required working closely with all clients on requirements gathering, testing, and final acceptance.

I am responsible for managing all TransVault migration projects and the engineers working on them. I create and maintain all documentation, both internal and customer facing. I also execute the large migration projects myself.As part of my position, I need to have a detailed technical understanding of Exchange, MAPI, and SQL Server. Migrations are complicated, and when they go wrong, I need to be very creative in coming up with solutions to fix migration issues.

I installed and supported Autonomy/ZANTAZ EAS for our customers. I also did pre-sales demonstrations to potential customers. Much of the work was post-sales customer support.Other internal projects included configuring Salesforce.com to fit with out account and case management workflow. As part of that, I developed an application to make a copy of our Salesforce database and store it locally as a backup. It keeps a local SQL database in sync in near real-time. I also developed our internal SLA tracking application to help our engineers manage customer tickets.I also developed and did pre-sales demonstrations for two software products that add on to EAS: Archive Admin Toolkit and Z2I Connector. Both sold well to Bishop customers and non-Bishop customers.

Managed and supported 100+ server environment with 9 branch offices around the world. I created and maintained an completely automated server build process for Compaq/HP Proliant servers that could take a server from no configuration, to having Windows on the domain, installed and patched in about an hour.Was the lead engineer on the NT4 to Windows 2000 domain upgrade. As part of that, I traveled to most of the company's international branch offices to install new servers and rebuild the user's PCs, upgrading them to Windows 2000. For this project, I created an automated migration tool to backup their data, rebuild the PC, then restore their data.Assisted with global Citrix MetaFrame roll-out which included advanced profile configuration and manipulation. I did advanced registry editing to customize user profiles and application settings. I also modified the Citrix webpage to allow users to automatically and forcefully log off any of their sessions across the farm. This feature was later added by Citrix to the product. (not my implementation though).

Worked as a consultant at Promega Corporation on their Help Desk. I did level 1 & 2 support of desktop applications. I also assisted with workstation image creation and rollouts.During this time, I also managed the phone and voicemail systems, handling moves, adds, and changes for employee telephones. This was a old Rolm system, so all configuration was done via COM port.After 1 year, I was hired on as a full employee of Promega.
