Joe has spent 30 years in Banking, continuously advocating for the customer and finding new ways to improve the customer experience and the financial well-being of all individuals and businesses in the communities he has served. His innovative approach to branding, marketing and distribution have proven to be successful for the community banks and wealth companies he has led, with many of the brand strategies, brand graphics, digital banking solutions and traditional consumer and commercial banking products he developed continuing to be deployed today at the financial institutions he worked at during his banking career.. Joe has also been an advocate for those who are in need of help; inspired by the lessons he learned from his parents and his Jesuit teachings at McQuaid H.S., where he learned to be "a man for others". His passion to serve those in need motivated Joe to serve as both the local chapter President and regional director for the American Cancer Society, where he spent fourteen years trying to help eradicate cancer and improve the lives of those who are afflicted with the disease. More recently, working in downtown Rochester motivated Joe to want to help improve the lives of those individuals devastated by Rochester's extreme poverty rate, which became the impetus for him to develop the Progress in Action Initiative for Five Star Bank. The grassroots initiative was designed to raise awareness of the poverty issues in the city of Rochester and encourage donations from individuals to fund plans brought forward by neighbors in economically disadvantaged neighborhoods to improve the quality of life in their communities, one block at a time.
