My team of 12 direct reports controlled ‘open to buy’ collaborated with vendors, HM customs, internal marketing and buying functions to provide operational savings, planning and forecasting visibility for both strategic network capacity and daily capability planning for logistics centers and stores. • Led multi-cultural team to deliver 17% sales growth each year for 3 years from new store openings and improvements in range, availability and execution• Reduced known loss in-store by 7m GBP per year by developing and implementing central ordering. • Improved availability by 9% to 98% across all 55,000 products by developing effective management of stock and flow.• Reduced capital spend on inventory by 19% releasing 21mGBP back into business• Grew fresh food sales by 21% by implementing affordable ranges into all stores based on customer and store dynamics• Saved 14% of transport costs by developing and implementing reduced delivery frequency saving 11m GBP per year• Developed 29 local leaders to be promoted to management positions• Led the business through the flood crisis in Thailand where 20% of stores, 30% of suppliers and all our logistics centers were under water.• As Chairman of ECR Thailand (Efficient consumer response industry body of all retailers and suppliers) implemented a 5 part strategy to grow sales and reduce cost for the industry -

Providing strong leadership for a team of 2,500 people through 10 direct reports and building sustainable relationships with suppliers, and 3rd party providers and our own internal retail and commercial businesses. • Wrote and implemented the strategy that opened 5 new distribution centers and closed inefficient ones achieving a 50% reduction in the cost of logistics. • Integrated Edeka and Carrefour businesses seamlessly into the supply chain as part of the Merger team (M&A) doubling the size of the business and reducing costs.• Developed and implemented a logistics income stream to support future investment and make internal logistics a profit center • Initiated and implemented a step change plan on fruit and vegetables which grew sales by 14% with central ranging and ordering making the change sustainable• Introduced an automated ordering system for all stores improving availability by 6% to 98%• Freed up 12m GBP cash flow through stock reduction and clearing aged stock• Provided leadership for 2,500 people and introduced succession planning to have complete local team in place when my assignment ended. -

I developed and led a team of 200 people led the development of the automatic ordering systems and collaboration with vendors to deliver 30m cases of stock per week and negotiations on Tesco vendor collection service including the planning of 32 distribution centers workload for a 7 day 24 hour operation.• Spearheaded automatic ordering saving 39m GBP retail payroll and 12m GBP on retail loss with a 4% improvement in availability to 97% & improving customer satisfaction.• Developed tools to collaborate with 4000 Vendors resulting in combined savings of 17m GBP from productivity, storage overheads and customer availability improvement.• Generated primary income model to allow Tesco to collect from vendors saving Tesco and the industry 90m GBP per year • Created a sophisticated central booking team for all 32 logistics centers that managed workload resulting in a single point of contact and 4m GBP per year savings• Developed a sustained team of future leaders from an in-house education system that saw 28 executives becoming managers or leaders each year.• Launched ‘Crisis’ process to deal with country problems such as lack of fuel or “foot and mouth’ ensure Tesco voice was heard with industry and government. • Appointed by my peers as Chairman of ECR Europe to lead industry to the right changes for the consumer.
