Research accountability, affordability, and accessibility in pediatric behavioral health care with a focus on implementation of integrated care. Research different pediatric medical diagnoses (Type 1 Diabetes, GI Disorders, chronic pain) and how they can be effectively treated with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.

Provided direct intervention services in an elementary school setting with children and families presenting with anxiety, depression, ADHD, psychosocial problems, etc. in the form of individual, dyads, and group therapy. Additionally, I facilitated different programs including social-emotional learning lessons within classrooms where I taught social and coping skills.

Conducted Telehealth therapy and assessments with children, adolescents, families, and adults with clinical presentations of anxiety, depression, ADHD, panic etc.

Roomed patients and inputted their history of present illness (HPI) as well as documented medical history. Administered local anesthesia before performing skin biopsies or excision. Assisted physicians during excision, surgeries, as well as skin biopsies by shave or punch method. Gained experience with histological preparation for MOHS slides and grossing skin biopsies. Prepared and submitted prior authorizations to insurance companies. Additionally, I had the responsibility of calling patients, informing them of their biopsy results, and explaining their treatment options.

Evaluated the effectiveness and feasibility of an online 6-week Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) group. Patients used either an online platform called Second Life or the HIPAA-Compliant Zoom platform. I took part in writing the therapist manual for the program and administered various measures to participants through RedCap and Qualtrics.

Researched the relationship between heart rate variability and pupillary light reaction in relation to emotional regulation. Studied autonomic nervous system (ANS) pathways and parameters, focusing primarily on the parasympathetic nervous system (PNS). Studied and utilized physiological measuring parameters such as a pupillometry eye-tracking instrument and ECG instrument. Analyzed heart rate variability data through applications such as Matlab. Conducted a literature review of relevant studies pertaining to psychophysiological measures in neurological disorders. Conducted a literature review on heart rate variability and pupillary light response in individuals with anxiety and depression.

Worked with at-risk youth with anxiety and depression and taught social and life skills. I was trained in assessing risk, crisis intervention, and de-escalation and became licensed as a Behavioral Health Paraprofessional in Arizona. I worked as an Administrative Assistant for the program and had the responsibility of filing behavioral health claims to insurance companies and working with them to make sure services were covered for patients.

Assisted in coding the racial and ethnic breakdown of subjects in over 200,000 published biomedical manuscripts from the last decade. I contributed over 150 hours of training others for this project, coding and data cleaning. I collaboratively worked with 20+ other undergraduate research assistants in developing this study protocol.

Worked with children from infancy to nine years old with some having psychosocial, behavioral, or neurodevelopment problems (Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, etc.).I had the responsibility of developing daily lesson plans and putting together files for each child with relevant information about their progress. I worked on obtaining standards for the program in order to keepaccreditation by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).
