Starting a new initiative in the Amazon Health org

Head of Product for Amazon Halo, leading a team Technical Product Managers and Program Managers (~40 in org) building 1st party hardware, software, mobile apps, cv/ml/ai powered features/capabilities, growth & engagement tech, consumer subscriptions/membership, 3rd party device and service integrations, science/r&d projects, and more.

• People and Org Management: Hired, mentored, performance managed, coached, and grew Alexa Video’s roster of technical product managers. Promoted 3 L6 PMs to L7. Led new processes/mechanisms to grow our PM skillset, ensure social cohesion of the team, improve knowledge sharing, and create transparency around strategic direction of Alexa Video and Alexa all-up. Supported the broader Video team with org-level processes/mechanisms to support 3 year visions, yearly strategic planning, quarterly/monthly/weekly business reviews, quarterly roadmap planning, idea generation, as well as supported hiring and recruiting across all Product, Engineering, and Management functions. • Incubated and established Alexa Video: As hire #1 for the Video team within Alexa Entertainment, I personally authored and executed the strategy and product roadmap for Alexa Video. Working closely with engineering, I grew monthly active usage of Alexa with Video features from 0 customers to > 25M across Fire TV, Echo Show, and 3P Living Room devices (like TVs, Set Top Boxes, Consoles). I directly owned as Product Manager and as Product Lead or Technical Product Managers dozens of PR-worthy feature/product launches, in addition to many dozens more iterative CX improvements that moved the needle for our business/product engagement/quality.• Launched Video Developer Platform: Shipped developer platform for Alexa Video Skills in May 2016, leading PM/Eng through platform launch as well as the launches of > 150 partners using Alexa Video platform over the last 3 yrs. Worked closely with leadership and product/engineering from major 3P partners like Netflix, Hulu, HBO, Xbox, Roku, Samsung, and more to both drive adoption of the develop platform and to grow feature adoption and CX quality. Scaled the Video Skills Kit platform from 1 partner with significant repetitive manual configuration required to a scalable and fully self-service developer platform available in all countries where Alexa is available.

• Joined Amazon in July ‘15 to drive Alexa’s Video strategy from the ground up. Wrote the original working backwards documents/proposals that led to the Alexa Video team being funded by Alexa/Amazon leadership.• Launched a number of features for Alexa Entertainment, including Kindle Books for Alexa, Music Search/Find/Browse for Echo Show, and voice-first YouTube Search/Control for Echo Show.

• Career Trajectory: Hired to Customer/UX Research team as an intern, promoted to Director, PM within 6 years. As a consistent top performer my work spanned across multiple disciplines, giving me broad exposure to multiple high priority areas of the business - Customer/UX Research, Product Marketing, Product Management, Business Development, and General Management. • Led Product Offers & Programs: Led team of 4 in extremely fast paced environment. Programs resulted in >20% share of T-Mobile’s net customer additions in Q115. Incubated several ‘UnCarrier’ style product initiatives like T- Mobile Tuesdays, JUMP On Demand. • Grew Tablet Business 8.5x: Led team of 4 successfully graduating tablets from emerging business status by growing active users 10x (91k-900k) in 15 months, including launch iPad at T-Mobile. Launched innovative services/offers/rate plans/products that exceeded financial targets.• Launched and redesigned On Device Activation platform: Led design/development, launch and re-design (2.0) of on device activation web app. Resulted in >20% recurring data conversion lift and 3x growth in iPad conversion YoY with new platform.

* Led the ground-up product re-design of Sidekick 4G (to Android from closed Danger OS) and its associated ‘first in mobile’ integrated group & cloud texting capabilities amongst other novel UX/UI features. * Led or supported the design to launch product cycle for multiple myTouch brand smartphones from HTC, LG and Huawei. Included design & development of unique software and hardware features exclusive to the product line. * Led project to capitalize on grey-market iPhones (pre-iPhone launch w/TMUS), increasing monthly activations by >20%. Creatively leveraged iPhone configuration tools to decrease onboarding from 20+ minutes to <3-4 minutes.

Independently managed a multi-million dollar consumer/marketing research budget, exploring Handset Portfolio optimization/TURF analysis, Smartphone Feature Conjoint, Qualitative and Quantitative marketing positioning research, Color/Material/Finish research for new handsets, and more.
