Manufacturing Manager (2007 - 2015)Led the daily operations of a 24/7, 40+-person facility operating multiple production lines. Directed production planning, environmental, health and safety (EHS), hazardous waste and all manufacturing hiring, discipline and discharge. Reported to the Site Director; collaborated closely with Quality Assurance, Process Engineering, R&D, HR and Sales.• Reorganized key elements of Quality Management System (QMS) for successful defense ISO13485 certification.• Reduced Customer Complaints 60%, by increasing awareness through the establishment of the Customer Complaint meeting• Reduced key product change-over time by establishing a cross-functional Lean Manufacturing Team.• Staffed and de-bugged the second production line that included the installation of a high-pressure steam boiler, providing a doubling of manufacturing capacity, production flexibility and reduced change-overs.• Raised efficiencies to >94% by Implementing process improvements on the highest margin product.• Implemented comprehensive pre-employment screening requiring both health physicals and background checks for all potential new employees reducing turnover and providing a more stable new hire process.

Concurrent with role as Manufacturing Manager, established a comprehensive start-up environmental health and safety program. Of primary concern was a key raw material which is a well recognized breathing hazard and hazardous waste that is used extensively in the foam making process.• Implemented hazardous and non-hazardous waste removal program as MHC Wiscasset is a LQG• Implemented air monitoring program, engineering controls and respirator program to control employee exposure to key hazardous raw material.• Reduced waste stream of hazardous chemical to below 0.001% of required annual volume and therefore reduced TRI reporting requirements. • Reduced workers compensation modification factor from more than 1.7 to less than 1.0 by establishing a site wide Safety Committee that drafted and implemented the safety policies and procedures.• Created a $500,000 net return through the establishment of an environmentally and financially beneficial recycling program for the reclamation of MEDEP hazardous material.• Hosted several successful regulatory inspections including OSHA, MEDEP and USEPA

Secured, managed, and successfully completed projects ranging in scope from $10,000 to $2,000,000. • Acquired over $1.5 million of new business, building the Eastern Region from 5 employees to over 40 within 2 years.• Led the complete renovation of a client’s manufacturing facility including all support utilities, manufacturing suites and installation of new manufacturing equipment. Coordinated design, construction and validation services among third party contractors and the client’s internal support staff including Facilities, Validation Quality Control and Quality Assurance.• Successfully managed the commissioning/validation of a $125 million facility/process expansion utilizing a unique approach to validation that is significantly reducing the overall project schedule.
