I’ve always been curious about how things are made, and I love solving complex problems. Given this, it was natural for me to study engineering and gravitate towards manufacturing. As career choice, powder metallurgy has provided lots of interesting problems, but none as challenging as developing the technologies needed to transform titanium powder metallurgy into a high performance, commercially viable manufacturing technology.Not that long ago, titanium was referred to as the “holy grail” of metal injection molding. I think that was part of its allure. Praxis made a very deliberate decision to focus on titanium and it’s been exciting to create new level of excellence in a field previously considered impossible. We specialize in porous titanium and titanium metal injection molding (TiMIM) and have developed a qualified TiMIM process for medical devices. We’re quite proud of this, but happily there are still plenty of challenges and problems to solve as we continue to innovate and commercialize titanium powder metallurgy.
