I provide the specialist management of ISO-certified QMS and EMS at LUC's six UK offices and also provide site security services for their DeltekPIM business management system (BMS) software. The BMS work is a mixture of managing system maintenance, ensuring its 200+ daily users get the service level they need, managing and occasionally delivering training, troubleshooting problems and overseeing continual improvement and longer-term business development support. The QMS & EMS part of my role involves internal audit, investigation of non-conformities, training, launching new & managing existing QM & EM initiatives, document revision and communication and managing all external audit arrangements across the UK.LUC has a shared-platform management system that is robust and adaptive to strategic changes in the business.

Remet is a non-ferrous scrap metal trading business. It trades in around 150 distinct non-ferrous alloys, grades and forms of scrap metal to meet the needs of a huge range of industrial clients. It moves approximately 60,000 tonnes of material per annum across UK, Europe, the Americas and Asia and has an annual turnover of approximately $US 500m. My principal role was to manage the central site waste management licence, the various brokerage licences (e.g Northern Ireland EA, Republic of Ireland TFS Office), packaging note trading account and carriage licence, as well as a host of subsidiary environmental permits. I also had responsibility for managing the various requirements under the Waste Shipments Regulations for green-list and amber-list waste materials shipments, both direct from the site and external shipments between third parties. This amounted to a total of around 2,500 trans-boundary shipments per annum from the Canning Town site, many of which were subject to the scrutiny of bodies such as the Chinese Certification and Inspection Group (CCIC).I also had responsibility for health and safety on the site, being the nominated person responsible for monitoring, advising and leading improvement initiatives that affected the 22 permanent site staff at this fast-paced industrial site. This included risk assessment review, responding to accidents and near misses and leading investigations, reviewing opportunities for continuous improvement and monitoring KPIs of health and safety performance.I was leading workstreams to achieve ISO9001 and ISO14001 certification for the company and had taken the company through to successful stage 1 at the time of ending my employment at Remet.
