Acting in a consulting role, I provide forward-looking services to optimize network stability and networkperformance for many of Juniper’s largest Service Provider and Enterprise customers. I provide recommendations to these customers in the following areas: Network Design, Network Configuration, and stable network device software. I have also trained most of the ASCE team, and authored training materials including, a course in public speaking / technical presenting. I am involved in many shorter-term projects including the introduction of new hardware, software, or features, into customer’s networks. My primary goal is to ensure overall customer success as well as successful outcomes of shorter-term customer projects. I document and maintain information on customer networks and solutions. The role requires me to excel in technical excellence, written and oral communication, and leading large projects with multiple team members.

Foundry makes and sells all kinds of different network equipment and competes with companies such as Cisco Systems. My role as an SE was to provide pre-sales and post-sales technical support for Foundry's full product line to our large Internet Service Provider customers. Duties included technical presentations on Foundry's products and solutions, conducting customer / partner training, assisting with lab evaluations of Foundry equipment, configuration assistance (Initial installation and configuration, BGP4, IS-IS & Layer 2 MPLS), troubleshooting network and configuration issues, account management, and network design consultation.

I was one of 3 senior people on a network team of 7 that was responsible for: Wide Area Network design, network implementation, network security architecture, network security implementation, and 4th level support and troubleshooting of BEA’s entire worldwide network (WAN & LAN). This network included several hundred Cisco routers and switches, 85 Juniper firewalls, 15 Juniper routers, 10 Cisco PIX firewalls, 11 Nortel Contivity VPN concentrators, and 3 complete Aruba Networks wireless systems. I am very knowledgeable in all of the above platforms and while at BEA I was viewed by many as a subject matter expert in network design, network security, and network troubleshooting. In addition, I was called upon to lead and project manage several high-level company wide network initiatives (such as 2 complete wireless network deployments). I had a strong reputation as a team player who was easy to work with, and who possessed excellent oral and written communication skills.

I provided pre and post sales support for CoSine's largest and most important Tier 1 & 2 ISP customers (such as AT&T, Qwest, and NTT to name a few). I was a key person in closing the millions in business we did with them. Tasks included presales presentations, leading training classes, IP routed architecture design and implementation for BGP4, IS-IS, and OSPF, firewall configuration, IPSec VPN tunnel implementation, and Cisco router configuration. Cisco router configuration included routing protocol configuration, and IPSec configuration.

Primary responsibilities were LAN / WAN network design and 4th Level support of their very large IP routed network. The Galileo IP network connected 10,000 different sites around the globe and consisted of several thousand routers (Nortel / Cisco) that collapsed onto a Nortel Networks ATM Backbone. My tasks included Designing new IP access, Planning, and Implementation to support growth, ATM configuration and troubleshooting, router configuration and troubleshooting, remote monitoring, LAN design and problem resolution (using Network Associates Sniffers). Router configuration included RIPv2, OSPF, and BGP4 configuration, and dial backup configuration. I performed network management via HP OpenView, Nortel Optivity, Nortel Speedview, and Nortel Site Manager (router configuration tool).

Primary responsibly was administration and maintenance of Navidec’s network. This network included SGI IRIX production web servers, Windows servers, MS-Exchange servers, DNS servers, 50 Windows clients, and NSC routers with firewalls. Tasks included UNIX and NT System Administration, router and firewall configuration, TCP/IP network administration, MS-Exchange administration, Windows 95 troubleshooting, and PC hardware repair. In addition, I supported many of Navidec’s customers by designing and implementing new networks (complete LAN’s with WAN links).

My primary responsibility was administration and maintenance of a 5 file server, 300 workstation NetWare 3.12 LAN. In addition, I was the supervisor over the Denver IS department. Other technical responsibilities included PC hardware repair and troubleshooting, Windows NT Server 3.51 administration, AT&T Definity G3i phone system administration, and UNIX system administration. I also did WAN link monitoring and control, and LAN troubleshooting.
