CSG provides software services and consulting. They are a Microsoft Partner that specializes in Applications Development, BI, and Sharepoint. My role includes performing new development, maintenance, support and upgrades for several clients using numerous tools in the Microsoft stack including WPF, MVC and Entity Famework, Web API, Java Script, CSS, SQL Server, Web Forms, ASP .Net, Office VSTO, and Sharepoint integration.

Contract Position through Bradson Tech for Fred Meyer Corporate Offices in Portland, OR. Initial assignment was to make modifications to MS Excel Templates needed to upgrade to Office 2007 (Which required some extensive work on the new Ribbon Toolbar). This evolvoled to current work for other departments to upgrade 2 Access databases to SQL Server/Web interface applications.

VAR2 is an accounting software reseller. My work substantially involved writing custom VBTools applications for Microsoft Dynamics SL (Solomon) but also included other products such as Sharepoint, CRM, Crystal Reports, General SQL / Windows development both in Visual Studio 6 and .Net development platforms. Contributed substantially to the development processes and techniques used at VAR2. My position included all aspects of the development process, including writing specifications, quotations, design, programming, testing, and deployment and support of custom applications. I have been laid off due to the bad economy, however, VAR2 intends to request I do work on an hourly basis in the future and hope to be able to rehire me when the economy improves.

Omega Group is an accounting software reseller. My job was to develop custom functionality for these accounting systems. Omega's product line included Microsoft Dynamics SL (Solomon), CRM, and SAP Business One systems. I am certified as a developer for Solomon and SAP Business One. Left Omega to take a position with VAR2, LLC. I was responsible for all decisions related to the development policies / practices / methodology used at Omega. My position included all aspects of the development process, including writing specifications, quotations, design, programming, testing, and deployment and support of custom applications.

Visimation is a software development consulting firm that specializes in creating custom add-on applications for Microsoft Visio. In my position at Visimation I was part of a 4 person development team. I was routinely required to perform all roles from sole responsibility for a project to project management of all 4 developers. The specific role for a given project usually went to the person whose experience best fit the project needs. I was much stronger in terms of Database technologies for example, so if the project involved a database element, then I would likely have a leading role but if the project involved perhaps an unfamiliar industry, my role would be limited to input on the architecture and coding to specification. I was laid off due to poor economy and Visimations development staff was reduced to 2 developers where it remains currently.

This position originated at Visio which was purchased by Microsoft shortly after I started there. My duties involved working support request where the issues involved developers with problems with writing applications to create add-on functionality to Visio. Additionally, I was tasked with creating custom Visio Add-ons to post in their knowledge base as examples and with documentation of proper Visio customization techniques. As is often the case in mergers, the position I ended up with at Microsoft was not the same career opportunity that was present at Visio. At Visio, Developer Support was a great opportunity to work your way into the core development team, while at Microsoft it was a dead end to eventual replacement by temporary staff. Therefore I quickly found a better opportunity at Visimation.

Created custom applications for the Finance department of the Materiel Division (division that was responsible for puchasing all the parts and raw materials obtained from 3rd party vendors). These applications typically were programs that imported a subset of data from large mainframe systems and allowed users to do various querying, analysis, reporting, etc... that was required for their particular function in software tools that were easy to use in a familiar (windows) environment. All the applications I created at Boeing was Windows client interface that linked to a SQL Server or in some cases an MS Access Database. I left Boeing for a better carreer opportunity at Visio.
