At 18 years old, sales was the first skill I learnt after leaving college.With no prior experience, I began cold calling & appointment setting for a local double glazing firm.(If you live in the UK, you know the phone calls…)After my first 3 months here, I had equalled the highest gross week they’d ever had: just under £20,000 in closed deals.4 months later I moved into a corporate sales job for a telecommunications company. This involved inbound sales with both new & existing clients.My time here developed my sales skills massively and nurtured my ability to communicate effectively.In turn, this helped me consistently hit the top 5 in the monthly leaderboards, still at age 19, on a huge floor with most professionals at least twice my age & experience.However, I was discontent with a variety of practices I saw in the business world.Glaringly-obvious errors just getting swept under the rug and ignored as it's "not my role"?!It didn’t make sense to me.
