Ocient is a high-performance data analytics and machine learning platform that provides a standard SQL interface to analyze the world’s largest structured datasets achieving speeds of processing of trillions of records per second. Founded the company with Chris Gladwin (CEO-Cleversafe) and George Kondiles (VP Engineering – Endstor). Later joined by Brian Hand (CEO-Shoplocal). Created original product ideas and technology direction. Started company and grew engineering team to 40 engineers. Designed and created product specifications. Designed and implemented recruiting process for all technical hiring. Coordinated with early customers to lead product driven development.

Endstor was an investor backed storage as a service company that hosted eight data centers around the United States to provide storage as a service using Cleversafe technology. We originally provided an S3 interface, but then developed an NFS/SMB bridge that we wrote in C++ to provide filer functionality for file sharing for office use. All assets of this company were sold to IBM Cloud Storage (Formerly Cleversafe) In January 2016 and were integrated into their product offering. Endstor returned a 25% IRR on invested capital.

Worked with Cleversafe engineering team to provide advice on building technology; product feature requirements and design strategy.

Falcon Insurance is a non-standard auto insurance carrier. I was the original CTO and built out the technology stack. I was responsible for all technical recruiting and hiring. I ran the process of all specification design and wrote the specifications for the business processes; billing processes and underwriting processes. Negotiated all contracts with data vendors and technical vendors. Managed the process of implementing an insurance product with 22 different integrations to outside vendors and had a system selling insurance in under 12 months. Falcon has grown to provide insurance in over 5 states and has over $100M in annual revenue.

WeGather is a fundraising platform for not for profits with a private social networking platform built into it. It has a full functional transaction engine for credit card processing and ACH transactions bypassing all payment gateways and directly integrating into NACHA sending for ACH and Vantiv and American Express for credit card processing. We passed level 1 PCI audits and were a Visa and Mastercard Payment Facilitator. We built our own tokenizing system to prevent any lock-in from credit card companies. We primarily sold to churches and schools to manage fundraising. We were acquired by LPI in October 2013. Our solution is currently used in over 2500 churches and schools to manage all fundraising efforts.

Acumence is a software product company that has a product that collects tens of thousands of data points from a single factory floor at 100ms resolution and stores it into a database to do predictive analytics and alerting. It is used in the high speed discrete manufacturing process with a strong focus on Beverage Can Manufacturing and Packaging Lines. Architected the original solution and managed all sales. Wrote the first four versions of the software and later hired an engineering team to manage development. Perform all sales functions, product management functions and finance functions. Acumence continues to be a successful company with great products and a great team. Acumence was acquired by Flexware in October 2017.

Founder of Visibility Systems. Grew from origin to a consulting firm with over 25 employees implementing Wonderware and other manufacturing software systems through the world. Was responsible for all aspects of the business including architecting solutions, proposing solutions, selling solutions. Was the chief technical architect on all systems that were built. Clients were exclusively Fortune 500 companies with extremely large manufacturing facilities.

Worked as a salesperson selling Wonderware Central in the Midwest. Architected, designed and proposed software solutions to large scale manufacturing plants. Wrote technical and business proposals and had closing responsibilities. Exceeded sales quota every quarter during employment.

Automated and Programmed large scale digital manufacturing plants in high automation environments. Upgraded and reprogrammed the Lehigh Valley Salad Dressing Line using TI545 PLCs; Programmed the Fat Free Philadelphia Cream Cheese Line Montreal Using PLC5-40; Designed; build and programmed the Beijing Cheese And Yoghurt Plant in Siemens S5 and Wondware. Programmed data collection system in Microsoft SQL Server using Microsoft Access as a reporting client for the Kraft Beijing Plant.
