About Me:My entire life, I’ve always been the kind of person that has more interests and ambitions than time to achieve every goal I sought after. When someone asks me what my hobbies, my typical response is “where do you want me to start?”An ideal day for me is to have a plan, usually a set of goals, and then let the day play out just to see how many times I can get side-tracked, take on more than I should, and still somehow end up accomplishing more than I planned to. At work, it's a constant list of tasks or projects that need done, at home it’s non-stop jumping head first into whatever sparks my interest or feels most important in the moment. Professional Background:My career is not what I imagined it to be, guess that’s the way life works, right? After spending several years trying my hand at commercial carpentry, I decided it was time for a change, time for a career where steady employment could become the norm. To this day I still miss strapping on my toolbelt, but I haven’t lost that passion and still make time for it through DIY projects at home. I tried commercial driving, over the road flatbed hauling, but it wasn't for me! I respect anyone who can make a living being on the road away from home most of their career, but I’m not built that way. Driving led to my current employment with Findlay Warehousing. Starting off as a driver, I was determined to be more and I was very honest about my goals right from the beginning. Letting my curiosity fly, and my natural ability to adapt and learn whatever peaks my interest, I began learning each job that was put in front of me. My determination and drive led to my first promotion to supervisor, which later led me to where I am now as a manager. I would have never guessed I would be where I am today if someone would have asked me where I’d be now in life, when I graduated high school. Skills:Technology has always come easy to me, not to mention if I can find a YouTube video or two on a subject, I can dive into almost anything with confidence.Standard Operating Procedures interest me, even though most people find them boring. You know you’ve written a good SOP whenever you can hand it to someone, sit back and watch them, and with little to no questions they can achieve the goal.Leadership has always been something I find rewarding. A good leader builds a team to help make things happen, a bad leader makes things happen by forcing a team to do what they’re told (just my opinion).Continuous improvement is vital to any operation, without it you'll never know if there's a better way!
