As Volunteer Ambassadors for 529 Garage, Melissa and I arrange bicycle registration events in the greater Nanaimo area. We combine this role with our Volunteer Park Ambassador roles, giving out 529 Garage materials, and doing on the spot bicycle registrations. We also incorporate ICBC safety programs and bicycle safety programs into our joint tours. As #YourCyclingVolunteerParkAmbassadors, Melissa and I have broken the mold for Park Ambassadors. Instead of occasionally serving a single park, we tour many parks multiple times a week, cleaning up illegal dumping, litter, and answering questions from Park patrons. We carry a fire extinguisher, first aid kit, and an extensive bicycle repair kit in our bike trailers. We provide complimentary assistance, when those using bicycles suffer a breakdown or flat tire. We welcome you to our many Parks, and all the wonders of Vancouver Island.
