Joel is Vice President of Coastal Services for ENCOS, Inc. (ENCOS) and has 30+ years’ experience collecting data in estuarine and oceanic environments. Mr. Chaky joined the ENCOS staff in June of 2000 as a Staff Scientist and was promoted, over time, to his current position as Vice President. During the 18 years tenured at ENCOS Mr. Chaky has managed, supervised, designed data collection systems, and provided technical oversight for numerous data collection projects in South Louisiana and several other coastal states. Mr. Chaky worked on projects funded by the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), Minerals Management Service (MMS), U S Geological Survey (USGS), Office of Naval Research (ONR), National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), National Audubon Society, and the Louisiana Department of Natural Resources Coastal Restoration Division (LDNR/CRD). Mr. Chaky participated in data collection efforts in hard to access environments of the world such as the Vitiaz Strait Papua, New Guinea and the Bab el Mandeb Strait between the Gulf of Aden and the Indian Ocean.
