Represent four Honda suppliers at Alliston plant: Robert Bosch, Automotive Lighting, AP Plasman and Magna Formet Industries. Address all quality issues, investigate issues and help suppliers find the root cause of quality issues. Provide prompt onsite support to customers to meet OEM requirements. Track and evaluate performance of special shipments and materials. Work with the respective reliability department and assist in issues resolution as necessary. Follow-up on unresolved issues and assist in supplier performance review. Reduce quality issues and inspections by proactively monitoring parts for any issues with respect to standard. Develop and communicate inspection standards and work methods. Assist problem solving teams and generate reports on supplier quality issues. Conduct regular floor walks, focusing on plant processing issues surrounding the supplier’s parts; solicit feedback from operators, team leaders, and plant staff on potential supplier issues. Successfully removed the inspection on AP Plasman parts by Honda, by standing with the inspection company and monitoring their part handling methods, as well as verifying all parts rejected by them. Negotiated with PQ, making them accept parts with minor defect, which resulted in the inspection coming off after one week; this helped the company to reduce inspection costs and related back charges.  Represented Automotive Lighting during an inspection case to help reduce the rejections and the negative affect on production; inspected all parts until the issue was resolved which helped to reduce rejections and prevented line stoppage due to part deficiency. This helped the supplier save 50% of the parts being rejected.

Conducted quality inspections for parts supplied to the assembly line at Honda’s Alliston plant. Rectified quality issues of automotive parts as per operation standard. Collected data of inspected parts to write reports.  Kept track of material inspected and submitted detailed tracking reports to the supervisor. Audited parts inspected by the other quality inspectors of the team. Collaborated in a team of five to work on the optimization of a door assembly line; proposed new door assembly layout with reduced shop floor utilization and improved production.

United Arab Emirates

Responsible for conducting steel calculations and managing repair plans based on class survey requirements on ships, barges and rigs. Ensured a thorough inspection of steel hull, piping, valves and machinery on ships and barges, both before and after dry docking. Conducted on-hire and off-hire condition surveys on barges and tugboats, as well as underwater surveys and inspections of commercial vessels during construction, modification, and repairs.  Conducted class and statutory surveys under Panama Maritime Documentation Services (PMDS) and Intertek Maritime Bureau (ITMB), (Republic of Panama, Tanzania, Togo, Comoros and Liberia). Performed PANAMA annual Safety Inspections (ASI) on offshore rigs and ships under the panama flag. Coordinated all activities for the Al Nakheel Barge Repair project, which included financing for the restoration of the barge back to IACS, preparing technical particulars, attending various meetings with supplier and repair companies, conducting site visits to monitor progress, and submitting a range of documentation and certificates to the class to facilitate issue of class certificate; completed the barge repair ahead of schedule and within budget.  Negotiated with the class surveyors and repair companies and reduced the steel repair, which in turn helped the company to reduce the repair cost. Received a certificate of appreciation for dedication and efforts given to both International Maritime Group and Intertek Maritime Middle East.

Saudi Arabia

Worked on the SATORP Export Refinery Project based in Saudi Arabia. Managed all construction activities conducted by contractors, which encompassed oversight of scope of work in accordance with contract requirements and timescales, as well as compliance with specifications and standards. Maintained control over equipment installation and alignment and ensured project materials were selected in accordance with specifications. Managed the correct identification of materials, and the proper protection of piping and fittings. Oversaw the erection of underground and aboveground piping, which included inline equipment and supports. Submitted as-built drawings and modification reports to the engineering department for client approval. Ensured all activities were completed in accordance with standard codes of practice, drawings, applicable job specifications, quality control procedures (QCP), and inspection and test plans (ITP) at the job site. Received certificate of appreciation for effort and commitment to the Saudi Aramco Total Refinery Project.  Proposed new dielectric electrode combination for machining of Monel metal (Kerosene servotherm dielectric and silver coated copper electrode) as part of an experimental approach to predict the surface integrity problems of EDM Products. Appointed to oversee the closure of all quality issues after hydrotesting due to ability to coordinate with engineers and supervisors from various departments, as well as both internal and client quality engineers; resulted in the successful closure of more quality issues than colleagues and received appreciation from management for positive coordination between QC and other departments.
