Thrilled to take a new role at STERIS as a Service Engineer. I have never worked for a large multinational company and I am excited to take the opportunity to further my professional development on a larger scale. The role has me with the responsibility for maintenance and upgrade for a number of Hospitals in NSW in the surgical space. It is an enthralling time as STERIS is growing and further establishing itself in the Australian/New Zealand markets after previously not having a direct presence in the surgical market up until a year ago. I am fortunate to have entered at a time where STERIS is actively pushing for growth in Oceania. I look forward to what the future brings.

A varied and interesting role in the Medical Sales Industry. Primarily I, along with my team are responsible for the Installation, Integration, Maintenance and Repair of Specialist medical Equipment on our sites across New South Wales. Our Company Specializes in Digital Operating Theatres, ICU and ED Installations. With Further Expertise in the Infection control, Radiation Protection, Patient monitoring, Patient Lifting spaces. All of Which I have had exposure too.My role has extended across: Initial assistance in the sales process, Design and Implementation, Installation, In Service Staff Training, On-Site/Remote Repair and Maintenance, Upgrades, Contractor Management, Team Management, Client Liaison, Compliance and more.Our Company has Grown exponentially since my joining and consequently I have had the Chance to Be involved and learn in many different facets of the business. It has been rewarding to gain such a breadth of knowledge in the Capital Equipment side of the Medical industry.

I am currently working for Activtec Solutions as the Head Technician for the Gold coast region and surrounding areas south of Brisbane.My primary Job description is the Repair and Preventative maintenance on a large variety of specialist medical equipment at various sites across the Gold coast. This includes Private and Public Hospitals, Surgical clinics, and Rest Homes. I have developed a comprehensive understanding of electronics and mechanical repairs whilst developing product specific knowledge and training from many of the biggest medical equipment supply brands. My Role is very autonomous and requires good planning and flexibility to make it run smoothly. It is a Technically challenging role and I am constantly trying to improve my effectiveness. Joel Dickson
