Served as mentor/chaplain for the Washington Bullets/Wizards for 20 wonderful seasons -- available to be a sounding board for the players of the team, some in upper management, members of the coaching staff, and also players from other teams. To my knowledge, one of the first team chaplains in the history of the NBA -- www.NBAchaplain.com Duties involved team meetings before every home game, counseling, studying with them, golfing, hanging out, spending time together discussing top-of-mind issues, helping new players and their wives feel welcome and a part of a new team culture, keeping in touch with their parents, and so much more. Kind of a combined player development assistant, empathic listener, kick-butt coach, mentor, counselor, spiritual adviser, pastor and confidant.Players at the NBA level do not have an easy time. Their position in life attracts a lot of insincere people with hidden agendas (with some not-so-hidden agendas), get-rich-quick schemes and negative influences. My job was to be a safe harbor for the players and their families. They knew that there would be absolute confidentiality, integrity and the truth...in their relationship with me. And that's about 90% of the job!!!Still keep in touch with a lot of the guys. I really miss the NBA players who have died: Wayman Tisdale, Manute Bol, Kevin Duckworth, Mel Turpin, Dan Roundfield, Armon Gilliam...life is short.

For eleven years hosted a radio talk show (Telephone Talk Time) where people called up and discussed most anything (history, archaeology, sports, science, etc), talked about current events, discussed various psychological issues (relationships, conflict resolution, etc.), matters surrounding religion.and politics.It was a fun show to facilitate. A rollicking good time had by all -- an hour every morning, five days a week..._________________________________________________________________________

Grew up in a small town of about 2,000 people in western Canada (Three Hills, Alberta). Left home at the know-it-all age of 17. Gave parents a whole lot of heartburn.As a long-haired hippie hitch hiked thousands of miles for 18-20 months around North America. Alberta. British Columbia. Washington. Oregon. California. Montana. New Hampshire. Vermont. Massachusetts. Maine. And more.Slept beside the road many nights. Met many fascinating and kind people. Asked a lot of questions. Learned much about people at street level -- the good, the bad and the ugly. Experienced a lot and lived to talk about it. Life turned around in Maine...late 1972. Repaired relationship with parents about a year later. Developed a brand new passion and purpose for life.Since that time have traveled to well over 50 countries internationally, lecturing & presenting in most of them. Have facilitated training events for the US Supreme Court, FBI, US Secret Service, GE, NASA, NOAA, Ikea, Airline industry, US Sentencing Commission, National Security Agency, the White House Communications staff, European Council of International Schools, professional athletes, a number of Heads of State and many more organizations.Here are just a few of the international travel experiences thus far: 1. Great Pyramid at Giza Plaza, Alexandria & Ft Rashid. 2. Three-day safari at Masai Mara Game Preserve, W. Kenya (twice) 3. NE Thailand. 4. Montrose Jazz Festival, Switzerland. 5.
