I am a Systems Engineer with nine years experience, and am currently employed by Cubic Corp. Although my current job title is Systems Engineer much of my daily work heavily includes designing tests and test analysis, much akin to a test engineer. In addition to the duties of a test engineer, my role has given me experience in providing customer support, product development, as well as life cycle management. Part of my duties also include technical analysis, project management, and overall systems integration. My capabilities include identifying engineering problems, analyzing solutions, and making recommendations. I am looking for a position that will allow me to expand my engineering skills and knowledge base. My greatest strength is a desire to problem solve. In my current role, I am tasked with the testing and qualification of two (soon to be three) product lines. Our products are designed for portability and rugged use. Our customers include military and law enforcement sectors around the world. Using specialized testing equipment, I am able to stress our products and determine design limitations. I create tests that include all aspects of the system design. When I encounter a problem while testing, it is my job to define the issue, determine the desired functionality, and propose a solution that will be presented to our design engineers. Often, I test rudimentary solutions as a proof of concept, before presenting my findings to the design engineers. A desire for self-education and improvement is essential which is why I have adopted these principles in my testing methodology. The experiments I designed not only test the accuracy of my assertions but also help to propose design improvements. Once these experiments are completed, I will be able to educate our design engineers to incorporate these findings to ensure our products meet the requirements of our customers with less development time from design concept to production. Through my experiences I can bring a wealth of knowledge to the table regarding the testing of new products and concepts. I am comfortable presenting my findings and strongly believe that you cannot fully understand something unless you can teach it. I am capable of meeting deadlines and working through problems to prevent delays.
