I founded a club at my university called Tech Start UCalgary and served as President from 2020-2022. Tech Start runs collaborative software projects, teaching members new technologies and professional development practices. We also have a special focus on entrepreneurship and developing projects in areas with business potential. Beyond our projects, we organized software and entrepreneurship workshops and interviews with leaders from technology, startups, and VC firms.I assembled a team of talented executive members and chaired our meetings to execute on our vision. I grew our community to over 150 cumulative members, with 17 projects and counting. In addition to my role as President, I also served as a project manager for our website team, where I mentored my team of 8 in the fundamentals of web development and source control. Developed features for Windows 11 applications, with a focus on integrating media experiences with OneDrive.

Developed software tools and pipelines for a variety of clients, with a focus on delivering valuable business insights through data analytics. Tech stacks included Python, AWS, Microsoft Azure, PowerShell, and Node.js.

I worked within Office Media Group on a next-gen media editing application using React, Redux, and Typescript. I led the development of several new features, proactively found and fixed bugs, and made fast, meaningful contributions to production code for an app with exposure to hundreds of millions of users. I also took initiative to create feature proposals for a Microsoft project outside the scope of my regular work. I identified problems and designed solutions, conducted user research, and presented my findings and proposals to stakeholders.

As a software developer with Arcurve, I joined the team of a startup called Menome to develop user interfaces and back-end programs that were deployed and put into production. This internship exposed me to numerous technologies like Docker, GraphQL and Neo4J and I'm grateful to my coworkers at Menome and at Arcurve for helping me make the most of the remote software development experience.As part of my work, I...- Created a bot that uses Python to call Microsoft Azure's Form Recognizer to parse PDF documents, then process the output using Javascript. - Created an open-source framework for uploading data from a Neo4J database into a kepler.gl map for data visualization. - Used React to create a user interface for manipulating data heirarchies with a Kanban-style approach. I connected this UI to our Neo4J database by building a GraphQL API.

Served as VP Communications at Project90, a club at the University of Calgary that creates engineering projects for various non-profit causes to make the world a better place. Served as Junior VP Communications throughout the 2018-2019 academic year.

I designed and led the Engineering 101 Summer Camp, which was dedicated to exposing youth to STEM topics through hands-on, inquiry based projects. Working collaboratively with other team members, I designed engaging hands-on projects which taught kids about many fundamental concepts in science, technology, and engineering. While leading the activities with the campers, I promoted a fun and safe learning environment and encouraged them to pursue their interests in STEM fields. Other responsibilities included creating write-ups, budgets, schedules, and helping with the planning and execution of the camps. In addition to running and organizing the Engineering 101 summer camp, I also ran Minds in Motion workshops at schools across Calgary and the surrounding area.
