As the Executive Director of Communications for all military assigned in the State of Alaska, Joel directed all telecommunications projects. As a former US Air Force Colonel, Joel has been a Commander/Director providing communications and computer network operations and maintenance for small cities of over 4,000 in England and the US. He has led worldwide IT/Telecommunications deployments and national defense system projects for US military operations and NASA, supporting 18 Space Shuttle missions. Joel earned a BS in Computer Science and MSBA in Management Information Systems. As Project Executive, l was selected to lead the largest major sports stadium project ever. Instrumental in developing the budgeting and SOW for a WLAN of 1,300 APs, Voice/Data networks to 8 facilities, integration of Microsoft/Nortel Office Communications, and a Call Center.As Director of Alaska’s Communications, I led Federal and State agencies for a $150 million Land Mobile Radio Communications homeland security program across the most austere terrain in the world, personally briefed US Senators, Congressional staff and State financial communities on program and budgeting needs.As a Space Shuttle Flight Controller at the Johnson Space Center in Houston, I was recognized as a NASA Superior Performer for Project Management team leadership.Specialties: Leadership and Vision
