I am currently taking my IT experience to the accounting and financial industry.I have spent over 25 years in the IT industry and have developed strong technical, analytical, and communication skills. My most significant experience is in databases from both back-end and front-end perspectives. I have also had 15+ years’ experience modeling and developing relational databases and understand the different design models involved with data warehousing such as Star and Snowflake. I have also had long-term knowledge of data normalization that I learned early in my education and applied often throughout my career. I have also taught database fundamentals as an adjunct online instructor for BYU-Idaho for over 3.5 years. I have been through every aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and have taught aspects of it such as requirements gathering, logical and physical database design through third normal form (3NF) data normalization. With the extensive database modeling and implantation experience, I’ve also developed significant SQL skills. I have also had experience with MS SQL Server; both from a logical and physical design and development, and with tuning some server tuning on a high-availability SAN. Moving forward through my career, technologies such as JavaScript, JSON, XML, HTML, CSS, Java, C++, Ruby scripting, VB, VBA, Excel, Word, Technical Writing, Significant analytical skills, and creative thinking, have all been skillsets I’ve necessarily needed to obtain to varying degrees. My consulting experience allowed me to develop communication skills where I’m comfortable communicating with those who are high-level management, or less experienced co-workers. I enjoy people, and the opportunity to be creative. I paint, draw, and am musical. I’m never satisfied with the status quo and vary much dislike the “…if it’s not broke don’t fix it” attitude. I like doing the best I can and making things amazing; it’s something I know I can do, because I’ve done it before. I enjoy working with others and love to constantly learn.
