I’m currently pursuing a BSc in Computer Science at Wilfrid Laurier University, with the goal of becoming a software developer/engineer. Having completed more than half of my degree, I’ve built a solid foundation in key CS concepts like Data Structures and Algorithms, Object-Oriented Programming, and Databases—fundamentals essential to software development and CS-adjacent roles. My experience spans from building full-stack web applications to fine-tuning machine learning models for real-world applications, as seen in my projects.I developed a price tracker web app using Node.js, Express, React, and MongoDB, enabling users to monitor real-time product prices from multiple retailers. Beyond creating custom user features, I automated tasks like price updates and alerts, optimizing server loads to enhance the overall user experience.I’ve also worked on a facial expression recognition system using pre-trained CNN models such as VGG16 and ResNet. By customizing and augmenting datasets, I significantly reduced error rates and improved model robustness. Through these projects, I gained expertise in Python, TensorFlow, and OpenCV.One of the biggest challenges I predicted, with using my projects for real world applications- was handling large amounts of traffic and data across multiple servers. This has led to an interest and my future goal of specializing in distributed systems.I’m always looking to expand my skill set and tackle new challenges in software engineering, AI, or other CS-related fields.
