The Music Admission Specialist provides support to the Department of Music and Office of Admissions in recruiting prospective music majors. This involves assisting with department publicity, scheduling, and marketing. This position requires excellent communication and organizational skills and the ability to work independently and multi-task.Responsibilities related to admissions and recruiting include:• Communicate (written and phone) with prospective students throughout the entire admissions process (schedule campus music visits, auditions, music admission/scholarship award letters).• Arrange audition day schedule and coordinate audition day events.• Work in direct cooperation with Office of Admissions regarding prospects and in consultation with Office of Financial Aid Office regarding scholarships.• Manage databases and track prospect data (applications, awards, deposits through the use of various computer/data systems).Additional responsibilities include:• Maintain schedule of events in Fine Arts building and assist in coordinating Department of Music calendar.• Compile bi-annual Department of Music Newsletter.• Compile publicity material, maintain web pages, develop social media, and prepare other marketing materials (both print and electronic).
