Under general direction of the City Engineer, the incumbent is responsible for all aspects of civil engineering activities which includes, but is not limited to: monitoring and reviewing development and capital improvement projects; responding to citizen and professional inquiries and complaints; analyzing, inspecting, and making recommendations regarding drainage problems. This position involves working with the City Engineer in engineering design, contract administration, development coordination, engineering plan review, infrastructure master planning, storm water management, environmental issues and interagency coordination.

Responsible for many aspects of design of single family/multi-family residentialdevelopments including paving, drainage, grading, sanitary sewer, water, preliminaryengineering, and cost-estimation. Involved in client meetings, final walks, and coordinationmeetings with architects, engineers and contractors.Frequently assisted Engineers with questions and troubleshooting of software.Duties also included training of subordinate engineers, review of construction plans,as-builts, plan production from start to finish and correspondence with city personnel.Visited project sites during construction to monitor progress and consult with contractorsand on-site engineers.

Research project consisted of aggregate collection, sieving, asphalt sample fabrication, and laboratory testing Use of Super Gyratory Compactor (SGC) for molding/compacting specimens to a desired air void content, X-Ray CT to generate 2D images of cored asphalt field samples and to analyze air void connectivity, portable coring machine for preparing laboratory specimens for testing, sieves machines for gradation analysis and sorting, as well as the Materials Testing System (MTS) for performing Repeated Deformation tests on samples in direct tension.Coordination with project team members was vital in managing time and materials during production and testing of samples. SKILLS -Familiar with AutoCAD 2010, Microsoft Office 2007, ArcGIS, MATLAB, SolidWorks, and Total Station surveying equipment-Have experience with various geotechnical laboratory equipment and materials as well as writing technical reports
