Joel Moore Email and Phone Number
I am a focused and dedicated young man in his final year studying Sports Science, Coaching and PE at Loughborough University. I am currently volunteering as the Intra-Mural Sport Chair, leading a team to deliver the competitive Hall Sport Programme at Loughborough University.I am a dedicated youth leader with a flair for encouraging others to get involved with sport and physical activity. I am passionate about enabling everyone, but especially young people, to experience the broad benefits physical activities offer. Through my roles on both the FA National Youth Council and the Youth Sport Trust’s Youth Board, I aim to increase the quality and quantity of opportunities to become young leaders in football and wider sport. I love playing a part in empowering others to reach their potential using sport as a vehicle. As a keen leader I feel confident managing a team of people and I understand the benefits of a good team, especially within sport. I enjoy exploring how to better my leadership skills.

Intra-Mural Sport (Ims) ChairLoughborough Sport Jun 2024 - PresentAs Intra Mural Sport Chair, I lead a team of 6 volunteer young leaders in delivering the competitive hall sport programme at Loughborough University. The 16 halls of residence compete over an academic year in weekly leagues and One Day Events (ODEs) to gain points for their hall. The hall with the most points at the end of the year, become the overall IMS Champion! As an Exec team we support 60 Sport Secretaries who work to get participants for all IMS leagues and events for their hall.Wanted to ensure everyone who engages within IMS is able to make lasting memories, I have lead the team in making several sporting and strategic changes to the programme.I have focused on making sure my Exec team feel supported in their role through looking to help them in understanding how to prioritise their time, putting together a code of conduct and helping them describe their purpose. I have also looked to use IMS platform to help promote the other Loughborough Sport programmes through information given to Sport Secs and upskilling the Exec in what the other programmes are and what they do.As a team, we have changed the way in which some leagues run and scaled back our delivery of ODEs to reduce the load on Sport Secretaries whilst looking to support them best we can through their busy role. -

I was supported by the Football Programme Manager and Admin staff.I worked within the Inter-disciplinary Team (IDT) to provide the best possible support to our Performance and Development teams who compete in Saturday League Football at Step 5 and Step 9 of Non-league. I also oversaw the 6 Athletic Union Teams that compete in BUCS.My role involved being assistant secretary and treasurer for Loughborough Students FC whilst managing pitch bookings at the University and catering bookings and coach travel on match days. I was also responsible for all match day planning and the running of match days for both home and away games. This involved liaising with opposition teams about our fixtures, sorting out match kit and opening up the Loughborough University Stadium on match day. I also communicated with our amazing volunteers on their availability for match days. For our 6 Athletic Union BUCS teams, I ran and organised the trials, along with support from the Programme Manager, for over 700 people at the beginning of the year. I also worked closely with the Chair of the Men’s Football Club to ensure all our student coaches, players and committee members are well supported and help them with any problems that arise through the season. -

Retail Assistant Summer TemporaryClarks Jul 2022 - Sep 2022Chesterfield, England, United KingdomWorking for Clarks in their busy summer period selling, in the majority, school shoes.I was able to build a great rapport with customers and receive excellent customer feedback. The roles required me to measure feet, find the customer's wanted pair of shoes and then fit the shoes. Often I would have to find similar pairs that the customer may like due to stock running low. Therefore my problem solving skills improved and interpersonally I was able to gain confidence when speaking to customers. I really enjoyed working at Clarks. The role enabled me to grow in confidence when talking to a variety of different people and feel confident in my abilities to sell a product. -
