I am Joel Portillo, an incoming freshman at UCLA studying Computer Engineering. I come from Guatemalan descent, and I was born and raised in LA. I received my high school diploma from Alliance Marine Innovation & Technology. Throughout my time at Alliance, I was heavily inspired to go into the engineering field by my mechatronics classes and teacher. My current career interests lie in obtaining a master's degree after my time at UCLA, and working in the chip manufacturing industry.
