Coordinate grant proposal preparation for a variety of sponsors (NIH, DOD, other HHS, state,foundation, philanthropic, and industry).Prepare detailed budgets and justifications as well as materials for financial reports.Develop and monitor spending with PIs including salary allocations and purchasecommitments. Interact with the Mass General Brigham Research Finance staff to establish and monitoractive funds, assist in closeout of expired accounts, and resolve complex accounting issues.Monitor expenditures and assures budgetary compliance; identify and evaluate excessive charges. Analyze cash flow to prevent deficit spending.Stay current with all new and existing regulatory requirements and institutionalpolicies/procedures and keep PIs and department leadership informed of changes.

Support the research and scholarly activities of the University faculty and students via funding identification, proposal and budget development, post-award services, and grant writing instructionfor faculty. Lead efforts to support student research as well as support faculty with the submission of both federal and state research grant applications.

Undergraduate Research Programming:Manage all aspects of CAS undergraduate research programming, esp. the Dean’s Undergraduate Research Fund (grants for students pursuing independent research) and annual Undergraduate Research Conference. Over 500 students apply for research grants each year. 350+ students present at Research Conference. Each year, I recruit nearly 200 faculty members to volunteer as selection committee members and Conference judges. To run these programs successfully I have built and maintained positive working relationships with students, faculty, and staff across CAS’ 30 academic departments.Administrative Director, Women In Science (WINS): Work closely with faculty director to provide necessary logistical support so programming is carried out in line with budget. Manage and oversee application/selection process. This necessitates building good working relationships with faculty in CAS’ STEM departments and recruiting them to serve on selection committees.Program Manager, Marc and Ruti Bell Public Service Scholarship:Manage application and selection process for scholarship open to any NYU undergraduate interested in a career in public service. Coordinate with counterparts in other NYU schools to market opportunity to students. Oversee collection of application materials using application system SurveyMonkey Apply (used for collecting and tracking applications for all our programs). Lead selection process to ensure decisions made in line with budget and donors’ goals.Academic AdvisingAdvise students on course planning and selection. Consult with students on internal and external co-curricular activities, e.g., experiential learning, study away, internships, career planning. Stay up to date on all curricular requirements and changes to be able to communicate graduation requirements to students. Direct students experiencing personal or academic crises to appropriate on-campus resources to ensure academic and personal success.

Program Management, Maryland-in-Rome: Advised prospective and admitted students (ca. 100 students in all) on academic, cultural, and extracurricular aspects of semester, year-long, and summer programs at UMD's program run in conjunction with the American University of Rome.Coordinated all aspects of registration: ensured on-site and UMD course registration; accurately processed transcripts and posted final grades.General Study Abroad Advising (focus on Austria, Germany, Italy and Mediterranean): Advised students on all aspects of academics, financial aid, scholarships, and university processes; nominated students for exchange programs at four-year international universities.

Visiting Instructor at Fu Jen Program for Western Classical and Medieval Culture, a 6-week summer intensive program. (2006, 2007, 2010, and 2013).In all, designed and delivered 8 intensive language courses (Latin and Ancient Greek from introductory to advanced, e.g., Livy, Sallust, Tacitus, Lysias) each covering a semester’s worth of material to over 100 total ESL students from Taiwan and Mainland China.

Co-developed and team-taught course on the history, archaeology, and topography of Rome and its environs each year.Co-planned, co-led, and co-taught more than 25 field trips and excursions each semester for 36 students along with fellow faculty and program staff.Supervised and provided logistical support to ca. 15 students each semester (ca. 70 in all) to ensure the timely completion of research projects and presentations.Sole instructor of 2 language courses each semester (Advanced Latin, Lucan; Intermediate Greek, The Greek Novel)Helped troubleshoot student issues related to cultural adjustment, living abroad, etc.
