Northeast Michigan Future is a non-profit organization was founded by Representative Joel Sheltrown to promote economic development of the 13 counties in northeast Michigan. Lansing often dismisses, or is not aware of the needs of rural northern Michigan. Many Lansing policies often result in the ''THREE P's" for northern Michigan. "Keep them Pure, keep them Pristine, ..... and keep them Poor." We understand the first two.. but we are certainly tired of the last.

MCRGO is the leading organization in the promotion of 2nd amendment rights in the State of Michigan. MCRGO develops and sets the agenda for most legislative gun issues in the legislature.

Tourism, Outdoor Recreation and Natural Resources Committee is responsible for oversight of most of the natural resources of the State of Michigan. Tourism, a most important economic driver of the state, was also a major responsibility of this committee. The committee passed a number of funding alternatives for the highly successful Pure Michigan Campaign, allowing for the promotion and continued success of that campaign that we enjoy today. This committee developed and pushed policy changes through legislation that provided for more access on state lands for various user groups as well as development and passage of major reforms to outdated policies in use of O.R.V 's These changes resulted in significant increase in economic impact to many northern Michigan rural areas. Responsible for oversight of the Dept of Natural Resources, this committee challenged policy changes that would be detrimental to sports of hunting and fishing and northern Michigan's economy, and sought to achieve an acceptable balance for all users of the state's natural resources.
