-Leading a $1.25 million program with a multidisciplinary team to model and project the 10-year growth of infrared optical control coatings (metasurfaces, thin films, and exotic materials), with additional responsibilities including schedule tracking, written reports, and stakeholder presentations-Managing a multidisciplinary team to create a 3D photonic design tool for complex, non-planarstructures, integrating material processing and imperfections beyond standard z-invariant models-Developed adjoint-based topology optimization codes in MATLAB and Lumerical FDTD for large silicon diffractive metasurfaces that produced a 4x improvement in calculation time and 50% improvement in performance and conducted material failure analysis on fabricated devices-Received $50K IRAD funding to initiate development of a deep learning algorithm to optimize photonic designs-Serving as the computational antenna design task lead on a $10 million project to design electrically small antennas.-Led the development of a novel design method for antennas utilizing COMSOL on a $2 million government antenna design program, resulting in a patent; technology now leveraged in a multimillion-dollar commercialization effort

-Designed, fabricated, and characterized a first-of-its-kind metasurface capable of tunable, directional thermal emission resulting in a paper to be published in Nature Commmunications and a patent-Experimentally demonstrated the first tunable short-wave-infrared plasmon resonance in a graphene metasurface by collaborating with chemists on a novel self-assembling nanostructure fabrication technique leading to publication in ACS Photonics-Designed a silicon metasurface for high-power, self-stabilizing laser sail application using Lumerical FDTD and time-domain MATLAB code leading to publication in ACS Photonics.-Engineered silicon/graphene metastructures to optimize optical resonance tuning in the infrared spectrum leading to new funding for work to continue after my departure.

Instructed two introductory physics courses. This included leading class discussions, grading assignments, and assisting students with experimental labs.

As a member of the Mu2e simulation group, I identified the effects of magnet misalignment and investigated potential diagnostic tools based on these effects. I gained experience in running heavy simulations on the sophisticated Mu2e Offline framework.

Determined the source of a measurement discrepancy made by the ATLAS detectors at CERN. This work concluded in a thesis.

Investigating applications of a machine learning program, Hierarchical Temporal Memory (HTM). Utilizing HTM to act as a controller for an inverted pendulum by estimating perturbation theory.
