About Joel Vardy

Here is a brief synopsis of my 32+ years and career in the Telecommunications and IT networking industries. I graduated from RCC School of Electronics in Toronto and received my Electronic Engineering Technologist (CET) diploma in March of 1985. I have spent over 21.5 years with Nortel Networks & Avaya in various roles; including technical support engineer, regional account sales manager, finance solutions manager, channel marketing manager and as Systems Engineer. The majority of my career (12.5 years) was working as a pre-sales Systems Engineer (SE) at Nortel and Avaya Canada. I supported all Canadian Channel Partners (Bell Canada, Telus, MTS/Allstream and Independent Partners) doing pre-sales engineering, NPI and product presentations in both the SMB/SME and Enterprise marketplaces. My expertise as a SME was on the Nortel/Avaya SMB products and solutions; Business Communications Manager (BCM’s), Avaya IP Office and Norstar portfolios; includes VoIP, SIP, Soft Clients (IM & Presence), Contact Center, IVR & CTI applications.September 2012 to September 2014, I was employed at Cisco Systems Canada Systems Engineer and actively supported Cisco partners, in all Cisco architectures and solutions. September 2013 - Obtained Meraki Networking Associate (CMNA) certificationAugust 2014 - Obtained Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) - Routing & Switching certification January 2015 to November 2015 - I worked at TELUS Communications as a Customer Systems Engineering Specialist (CSES) in the Enterprise Private sector.February 2016 to October 2017 - I worked at Allstream Business Inc. as a UC Sales Specialist selling MiCloud and HCS Cloud Unified Collaboration solutions. March 2017 - Re-certified Meraki Networking Associate (CMNA) certification I have a very good knowledge and understanding of UC & Data networks: LAN, WAN, Wireless, VoIP, SIP, VPN Security, Video, Cloud technologies and VM environments.
