I worked with multiple higher education institutions, helping to implement a revolutionary, award winning, student management system. I focussed on user experience and accessibility through the development of a UX process at the company both in the UK and Australia. A large part of my role was designing easy to use, accessible products, balancing the understanding of user needs and technical challenges to create useful systems that could be delivered to universities across the world.

• Worked with two other student volunteers to help teach classes of around 20 students.• Worked to create weekly sessions based on HTML, CSS and JavaScript.• Designed sessions to try and cater for everyone’s needs as we had a mixture of students, some who had coded entire websites before and those that had never coded.• Used sessions to teach different parts of the syllabus and then allowed time for students to try working through examples and helped out where needed.

• Working shifts and having to make sure that I arrive before my shift starting time and making sure that I’m always punctual.• Working in a team to make sure that the large shop floor is kept tidy and that the layout is all kept to brief.• Working independently to re-brief areas and making sure that stock is out as soon as possible.• Communicating with the general public and attempting to resolve any problems that they may have.• Being flexible enough to work in different sections of the shop when different departments are busy. This includes making sure that I know what’s needed of me in different areas and getting on with the task in-hand as quickly as possible.
