About Joe Landon

Joe Landon is an experienced CEO and aerospace and defense industry executive with a track record of building new commercial businesses, shaping and winning large U.S. government programs and leading entrepreneurial teams. He has a strong technical foundation in spacecraft and space mission design, test and operations.Most recently, Joe served as CEO of Crescent Space, a pioneering new subsidiary of Lockheed Martin building lunar infrastructure as-a-service. Prior to launching Crescent, Joe served as Vice President for Advanced Programs Development at Lockheed Martin where he led business development, strategy, and R&D for Lockheed Martin’s multi-billion-dollar Commercial Civil Space line of business. Earlier in his career, Joe served as CFO of the asteroid mining venture Planetary Resources Inc, a company that sought to expand Earth’s economy into the solar system through the development and use of resources found in space.Joe is a member of the World Economic Forum’s Global Future Council on Space and an Associate Fellow of AIAA.. He holds undergraduate and master’s degrees in engineering and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
