I have spent the last few years studying biology at Salve Regina University, building sailboat racing teams on Lake Erie, restoring wooden and fiberglass boats, and building and repairing sails. My most recent projects have included full structural rebuilds of old racing sailboats and a full restoration of a 45-foot wooden motor yacht which entailed replacing multiple hull planks, rebuilding major deck structures, and fabricating custom features. I also have three years of experience teaching the fundamentals of sailing and sailboat racing at North Cape Yacht Club. At Salve Regina University I have taken many courses in which I have formed a comprehensive knowledge of ecology, population dynamics, conservation biology, and environmental chemistry. I hope to utilize my knowledge to guide me in a career in either the marine industry or in conservation biology.
