I clearly recall the August afternoon 22 years ago when I created and uploaded my first webpage. The moment that file loaded in my browser, I realized how powerful and accessible the Web was for a creator. It was magic! From that day forward I knew online storytelling had to be a major part of my career. How can you beat instant, global access?I've since gone on to work in the non-profit sector, and tech, outdoor and financial industries. The common thread that binds my career has been digital storytelling. From building an engaging website with open-source software, to cultivating a following through social media or driving sales through email marketing, in a sense it's all the same thing. Done right, it's just good stories, shared online: efficient and intimate. How could you not love it!Recent accomplishments include:-- Managed marketing campaign with professional sports team driving a 25% increase in account opens; 300k video views for 3-part series-- Directed employee engagement and employer brand marketing for global travel brand; drove a 9% improvement in CEO rating earning leadership the rank of 11th highest-rated CEO on Glassdoor, Best Company in UK-- Drove digital strategy for #1 US specialty running footwear brand; grew global social following from 20k to 400k in 24 months; efforts featured as best practice by Facebook.com-- Negotiated and launched product and event partnership with SXSW Interactive Festival; authored and coordinated successful conference panel submissions for the 2013 and 2014 festivalsOutside of work I enjoy raising my son, cooking for my family, developing my creative skills and exploring the outdoors. I've produced films that have been featured at the Trail Running and Gig Harbor Film Festivals have run over 80 50k, 50-mile and 100-mile trail ultramarathons.
