Munson, Inc. is a commercial and residential fencing and paving company located in Glendale, WI. Munson has been servicing the Greater Milwaukee and surrounding areas since 1955. Their PAVING DIVISION specializes in asphalt and concrete construction projects ranging from driveways to large parking lots and from colored and stamped concrete to small trench patching. Munson's FENCE DIVISION installs industrial chain link fences, gates and operators as well as decorative wrought iron style fence and everything in-between. Munson also has a TENNIS COURT DIVISION that combines all of these talents together creating, nationally award-winning residential and commercial courts.

American Asphalt Materials, LLC was founded by three asphalt paving companies from the greater Milwaukee area. The idea was create a strategic partnership that would mutually benefit the members of the group. The synergy that was created provided the partners a position where they could better compete within the consolidating asphalt paving industry. My job was to present the company in a way that was consistent with its branding strategy and to promote it with integrated marketing efforts. During my time with the company, I was responsible for our online presence, digital marketing, customer relations, business development, project cost estimating and management, also the launch of our highly successful pavement maintenance products division.

BJB Transit is a subsidiary of American Asphalt Materials. As an asset-based common carrier, it operates seven quad axle dump trucks locally in the greater Milwaukee area hauling crushed aggregate and hot-mix asphalt. The company also operates three tractor-trailer units in interstate commerce across all forty-eight states mostly hauling industrial goods such as steel and also general dry goods.My position at the company was in conjunction with my sales and marketing position at American Asphalt Materials. At BJB Transit, I was responsible for managing the up-keep and scheduling all maintenance and repairs for the fleet. I was able to accomplish this by implementing and managing our fleet tracking system, developing relationships with multiple service providers, and suppliers. During my tenure, I was responsible for hiring our team of commercial truck drivers, developing business relationships with freight brokers, and completing all government filings.The best part about my position at BJB Transit was my role as the company's branding manager. The trucking industry is a tough business. It's vitally important to set one's self apart from the competition. We were able to accomplish that by creating an exciting image and delivering outstanding service to our many customers. I'm very proud of that.

Asphalt Sealing & Striping Company, Inc. was a great experience for me. My brother and I started the company in the summer of 2004. We both worked for American Asphalt Materials during the week, and operated the maintenance company during the weekends. It was a seasonal asphalt pavement maintenance business that operated every year during the months of June through October. At the time, we were both looking to try something new and were eager to run our own part-time business. I was learning many things during my education at the MATC and UWM at the time particularly in my core business and entrepreneurship courses. Starting a business from the ground up gave me the opportunity to put those lessons to work in the real world. Business development, branding, marketing, cost estimating, project management, and operations management are just a few of the things that were vital to our success. We concentrated our efforts on servicing high-level and repeat commercial accounts within the banking and education industries. Within five years, I was averaging just shy of a quarter of a million dollars in annual sales. The experience I gained from this time period was priceless.
