Master of Science in Management from the Gies College of Business at the University of Illinois.As director of education for Myriad Botanical Gardens in downtown Oklahoma City, facilitated 500+ educational experiences each year, which included workshops, tours, corporate events, festivals, school visit programs, outreach, as well as organizing and emceeing the region’s premier horticulture symposium – Oklahoma Gardening School. Missioned to connect people with nature and propel the community toward sustainable living, the department’s blend of formal, nonformal, and informal learning served 13,680 participants in 2019 and engaged 500K+ visitors through interpretive signage. In addition, authored the award-winning ‘Garden Groundbreakers’ — a first-of-its-kind program for the only botanic garden with an onsite primary school. The experiential curriculum encouraged inner-city students to expand their curiosity about the natural surroundings, fostered excitement about healthy living, and prepared the next generation to become resilient environmental stewards. Upon completion of the inaugural year, learners demonstrated a 30.72 percentage point improvement from pre to post assessment. In addition, the school’s 2018-2019 overall performance scores in science exceeded the state average by 34.9 points. In 2020, the school was recognized by The U.S. Department of Education as a National Blue Ribbon School.Currently, serves as the Director of Federal Programs. As director of an OST program, provided offerings in environmental, recreation, and civic enrichment across four campuses. Lead a team of 100+ employees, while managing a $6.6M annual budget. In three years, secured $6.4M in grant funding and in-kind contributions.In addition, pioneered a digital-first approach to public garden engagement by designing an interactive map. As curator for the onsite arboretum, launched the ‘GPA: Greenhouse, Prairie, Arboretum’ and 'Green-Collar Internship Program' to restore and enhance the outdoor spaces. Hired university scholars to lead a paid teenage workforce, which infused horticulture knowledge and skills, nature appreciation, and economic resources into the local community. For these efforts, earned the Community Forestry Award from the Nebraska Forest Service in 2021.
