This PhD research aimed to increase our understanding and the characterisation of natural hazard interactions, so as to improve multi-hazard approaches to assessing hazard potential. The challenge of cross-disciplinary communication and integration into stakeholder communities was explored through the development of innovative ways of visualising natural hazards and their interactions. This PhD (i) Completed a thorough review and developed a broad based classification of natural hazard interactions across a diverse range of hazard types, (ii) Explored the susceptibility of these natural hazards and identified natural hazard interactions to anthropogenic forcing, and (iii) developed a series of guidelines for the regional application of hazard interaction frameworks (with a case study in Guatemala), contrasting hazard interaction networks developed from understandings and data populating contrasting knowledge worlds.Fieldwork: Guatemala (2 months)Conferences (Presenter): - EGU 2012, 2013 (Vienna, Austria) - New Techniques for Geohazard Management 2012 (Lanzhou, China).- 4th Conference of International Society for Integrated Disaster Risk Management 2013 (Newcastle, UK).- VMSG Annual Conference (Norwich, UK)Conferences (Convener and Presenter): - The Dynamics and Impacts of Interacting Natural Hazards 2013 (London, UK).- EGU 2014, 2015, 2016 (Vienna, Austria).- Sustainable Resource Development in the Himalayas 2014 (Ladakh, India)Teaching:- Guest Lecturer (Multihazard Assessments), Advanced Natural Hazards- Class Assistant (Mineraology and Petrology), Methods in Physical Geography
