... because life is too short not to throw caution into the wind and dedicate my life to making amazing wine!After 30 great years in the IT industry, Linda and I decided to pursue our dream of owning a vineyard and winery. Yes, it's a huge risk, but we all live only once so when is the right time to pursue your passion? In September 2017, we purchased a small orchard on the Naramata Bench (Penticton, BC), and after moving here in January 2018 we began the lengthy process of converting it to a vineyard and building a winery! We expect to have our tasting room open in the spring of 2021. For you wine geeks out there, we will growing 4 varieties at our home vineyard: Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Cabernet Franc and Riesling. Though the first harvest from our home vineyard will be 2021, we have purchased grapes and also lease a second vineyard just down the street from us. This adds Gewurztraminer and Pinot Gris to our list of available wines. And, of course, we also have a (spectacular) rose made from 100% Pinot Noir grapes. We currently have close to 1,000 cases of wine, made at a neighbouring winery, from the leased vineyard and purchased grapes which will be available once we receive our license (anticipate June 2021). Production will be small, and stay small, as this change is as much about quality of life as it is about amazing wine. Keeping it small means we can largely manage this ourselves, along with some well placed help from our friends during harvest and planting. We also want to offer different expressions of these grapes. Table wines are amazing, but bubbles and fortified wines might just knock your socks off. We're super stoked about the journey between now and when we open the doors to our winery.
