Was a part of an exciting and much needed grant that helped traumatized and under-served youth and families that are at-risk of gang involvement. I utilize Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and the SPARCS (Structured Psychotherapy for Adolescents Responding to Chronic Stress) curriculum in both group and individual formats. Infusing both of these evidence-based interventions with the contemplative, mindfulness-based approach that I developed through my training at Naropa University in Boulder, everyday is a new and challenging experience that pushes me professionally and affords me the opportunity to contribute to our community in Denver by helping youth and their families heal and develop in positive, healthy ways.-Treated adolescents with significant trauma histories, juvenile-justice involvement, and either active gang involvement, or at-risk of involvement, as part of a grant-funded research project known as Project RISE-Developed treatment plans, monitored treatment progress, and administered diagnostic mental health assessments-Provided crisis intervention, school based services, utilizing best practice evidenced-based CBT and DBT modalities at the individual and group therapy levels-Maintained accurate and timely documentation, meeting and exceeding agency standards-Supported parents of youth struggling with mental health and behavioral challenges by including them in the therapy process, while honoring their rights and preferences in being involved in the therapy process-Participated on teams beyond my positional responsibility to aid in implementing an agency-wide Trauma Informed Care Approach and positively affecting cultural change-Collaborated with multi-disciplinary teams within and outside the agency in an effort to bring consumers the highest and most consistent level of care
