For 25+ years now I’ve been working fervently as a freelance front-end web developer/designer and graphic designer (proper). As a matter of fact virtually everything presented in my portfolio is commissioned work. Having never advertised, I’m also very proud to say that my freelance business has been completely acquired through my reputation alone. Becoming an Adobe Certified Designer, Developer & Instructor was also of my own directive. An attempt to list all of the types of projects I’ve worked on, budgets and time lines I’ve worked within, and the various team dynamics would be quite exhaustive. In addition to dozens of static and dynamically driven websites, some of the more noteworthy projects of complexity would include: several flash-based, dynamically generated streaming media players; dynamically generated video cataloging interfaces; and a 2007 Rochester Business Journal “Best of the Web” Nomination. Due to privacy issues, most of the government and educational projects I’ve worked on cannot be made publicly available. I would enthusiastically discuss any number of these projects in detail with anyone interested.

I was the UI/UX design lead on a team of rock stars from Insight Global. We're building a brand new piece of enterprise software for FedEx Logistics to be localized and deployed to nearly 200 countries.Essentially, the software will be used to audit and ensure regulatory compliance of shipments being imported and exported across any given country's border worldwide. As one would imagine, it's an extremely complex set of workflows and unique challenges - where "big data" is an understatement.It's proving to be a very rewarding puzzle to solve.

At Albertsons I collaborated with several product designers and owners designing various shopping product features for both their flagship mobile application and web shopping experiences, as well as contributing to the Design Language System (DLS). Examples include their Reward program, Coupons, User Profile, Games, and Pharmacy features.

Originally contracted to lead a massive $7.5M UX/UI overhaul of a 20+ year old monolithic corporate lending/relationship manager application (CARM). For this I created the Design Language System (DLS) for all presentational code, created a markup template repository for the development teams fully documented for implementation. I worked with directly with the product owner(s) and SMEs to replicate and implement all features and improve workflows, and delivered said presentational markup across multiple off-shore SCRUM teams to ensure a consistent and unified user experience.Since then, they’ve kept me on to lead in a number of new digital projects across multiple SCUM teams, time-zones and continents. Including but not limited to:• Digital Credit Paper (DCP)• Global Annual Review Report• Various Key Metric Indicators (KMI) and Early Warning Indicators (EWI) dashboards.• API Manager Tool• Risk Reporting Portal• Authority Delegation Manager• Data Adjustment Manager• and moreI’ve been working directly with the stakeholders, product owner(s) and lead developers to gather business requirements and access the technical feasibility and cost of the new interfaces and workflows; prototyping new designs/workflows and testing with subsequent user groups; and new development through to launch.Deliverables range from design specification documents and standards to fully responsive ubiquitous presentation mark-up (HTML, CSS, JS) to be consumed by various JavaScript-based development platforms (e.g. HandlebarsJS, ReactJS, AngularJS)

PayQuicker is a rising star in the commission payment industry, allowing companies to instantly pay their distributors domestically and internationally. Because PayQuicker’s software platform is deployed globally - supporting a multitude of currencies and language translations – it presented some unique and rewarding challenges.Over the last 2 years I was responsible for all requirement gathering, UX development, wire framing, story boarding, prototyping, creation of the UI specification documents, and the creation and ongoing maintenance of the presentational layer code (HTML, CSS, JS) using a variety of tools. The platform is built in an MVC.Net environment using REST API, oAuth, Azure, Bootstrap, Less, jQuery UI, KendoUI, Angular, Ionic and more.In addition to the design and development of the user experience and interface, my graphic design background was leveraged in other areas including virtually every public-facing design asset – including all digital and print advertising, print collateral, trade show booth etc. - leading the implementation of a cohesive, polished brand for the company and it's products in all venues.

UI/UX design and development for enterprise Managed Print Services (MPS) web and mobile applications. My primary role could probably be best described as engineering/reengineering the UX/UI of new/existing web and mobile applications to make them more intuitive, task driven and streamlined, creating business analytical dashboards and widgets. I typically would then code the UI layer which would then be handed over to SCRUM* Development teams consisting of C+ and/or ASP.Net application developers. My deliverables were primarily in the form of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQueryUI, PDF Comps/Storyboards, Wireframes, UI Specification Documents, and any/all supporting UI graphics fonts and icons. Files are created in many applications, but almost everything was managed (bug tracking, version control etc.) using Microsoft TFS. *Xerox follows the agile development model using SCRUM teams.

Designed the look and feel of countless instructional design web utilities, web sites, micro-sites, instructional data reporting tools, and any supporting technical support print pieces. My primary job function for WFL-BOCES was creating a multitude of interactive e-Learning instructional design modules for both K-12 students and K-12 educator professional development. Because of my expertise in the other conventional mediums of graphic design, I’ve also delivered numerous print and brand collateral for the organization in the form of course catalogs, trade show booth designs, print advertisements, signage, logos, brochures, booklets and much more.

Troy Web Consulting is an Adobe Solutions Provider™ and Adobe Training Center™. In addition to providing classroom and on-site Adobe training, my role for them has almost exclusively been designing and building the UI and respective web page templates for their clients’ web sites and applications. This work typically consists of interfacing with a client from the very beginning to interpret the look and feel of their project within the scope of a predetermined budget then deliver all UI elements to the respective developer(s) who’ll handle the content. All Adobe Certified Training™ was contracted through Troy Web Consulting.

Traveled to remote training facilities or “on-site” locations throughout the east coast to deliver Adobe certified curriculum and tailored software solutions using Adobe products. Responsibilities often included developing a tailored course curriculum, creating course material, providing applicable source files, project examples and follow-up online training resources.

At the time Global Crossing was the 3rd largest telecommunications company globally, I creating and managed the look and feel of their corporate intranet site. In addition to the design, my responsibilities would also include creating and supporting a set of templates distributed to the content contributors for use in over 300 sub-nets globally.
