Hello and welcome to my LinkedIn profile! My name is Joel Denton, and I am a Senior in the School of Business at Howard University, pursuing an Accounting degree. As a high-achieving scholar and a first-generation college student, I am passionate about using my education to make a positive impact on the world.I am actively involved in various clubs and organizations on campus, including the Real Estate Club, Accounting Club, and Finance Club. I am also an executive board member of Chosen, a Christian organization, and a part of the You Lead Male Initiative where I serve as the academic achievement chair.I have a history of working in the real estate and accounting industry and am interested in pursuing a career in real estate development. However, my career interests also include health and fitness, soccer, agriculture, and finance. I am an ambitious and determined young man who is always seeking knowledge to improve my skills.What makes me unique is my upbringing and the adversities I have encountered, such as moving to an entirely new country without my parents at the young age of 17 and working part-time jobs to pay for tuition. However, I am relentlessly determined to achieve my goals and make a positive impact in the business world and beyond.In the future, I plan to start my non-profit organization to help support lower-income families in Jamaica and help to develop the area. Through this organization, I hope to provide financial education and resources to families and also fund education for children in need.My top values are integrity and humility, and I love learning and taking advantage of opportunities.
