Joel is the founder of Blanco Velo Consulting, an energy industry consulting practice based in Colorado. Joel has extensive experience in oil, refined products and natural gas liquids. Specializing in systems implementations and integration with OpenLink's RightAngle system. Other areas of focus are integration with ERP systems, rail yard management and integration and lease crude gathering utilizing over 17 years of experience.Prior to forming Blanco Velo, Joel was a Director in Opportune LLP’s Energy Supply and Trading Consulting Practice. During this time, he managed large scale projects for lease crude gatherers, marketing / refinery operations as well as natural gas liquids marketing. Prior to joining Opportune, Joel worked for 2 years at MarkWest Hydrocarbon as the system owner for their OpenLink (formerly SolArc) RightAngle system as well as several other systems. Joel began his career working as a software developer, functional consultant and technical consultant with SolArc allowing him to build an expansive basis of technical knowledge and understanding to compliment his energy industry knowledge.Joel has served in roles as the project lead for software selection system as well as project manager for multi-million dollar ETRM projects.
