This was by far the best training and experience anyone could ask for! I engrained a work ethic and self confidence that I could accomplish anything I set my mind to do. I sold books for 5 summers, paid for college, cars and my first home. I Recruited, trained and ran a sales organization of motivated college students and student managers during their summers. Relocated to different states, we lived and worked 80+ hour, 6 days a week (with sales meetings on Sundays) selling educational and homework based reference books (not encyclopedias) to families with school age children in the local territories. The students lived and learned self reliance and self motivation, salesmanship and leadership abilities that would carry over into their professional careers upon graduation.
