I'm happy to be based in our Downtown Los Angeles Office very near where Burns & McDonnell's second office was located in 1923.Started with running nearly a start up operation, I’ve profitably grown the operation in CA and the Western US. The most difficult job in the industry at the time; I dare anyone to say otherwise! I was the Metro Executive with a staff of 1,100 and revenues of $280M pa in revenues. An incredibly challenging role in the HQ city during the largest merger in AEC industry history. What I learned compressed into the year of the role is boundless and I worked with some fantastic people who I will never forget.As a second generation Angeleno, it was a joy to work with the people, organizations and clients within our greater Los Angeles community. My most significant contribution was improving client service focus, building up the diverse business enterprise supplier network and getting engaged in making Los Angeles a better place to work and live. I developed strategy and improved the longer term health of the business greatly. I led large pursuits and enhanced critical key client relationships. I was the District General Manager for the Mountain/Northwest with 600 staff and over $120M pa in revenue. Honestly, with the help of my great team, we really kicked it! Had a a great time across 12 States. So much cultural change was needed to help people work successfully in the new organization.It was highly successful turnaround with a fragmented network of operations. The District comprised the great eleven states within the western United States with presence in all major cities. I had particular focus on Seattle and Denver clientele including SoundTransit, Port of Seattle, Denver International Airport, P66 and City of Denver. The most enjoyable part was being in parts of the country that has beautiful scenery and an appreciation for the outdoors.I was responsible for several professional services business lines including transportation, building engineering, facilities management, water and waste water engineering, energy and environmental engineering and planning.

Public forum and outreach, technical direction for the remediation, construction oversight, quality control, environmental controls including odour management and contractor monitoring.

Developed computer model for flexible pipeline manufacture. Used advanced mathematics to speed algorithm and utility by factory engineers. The Lead Engineer Dr McCone taught me to use a Newtonian equation that sped the algorithm from minutes to micro-seconds. Way cool!
