I am a Lecturer in Design at The University of Sydney’s School of Architecture, Design and Planning, where my work spans interaction design, human-computer interaction, community engagement, and smart urbanism. My research investigates the interaction between people, place, and technology, focusing on community engagement, co-design, emerging technologies, and innovative approaches for including non-human stakeholders in the design process.I have authored and co-authored numerous publications and books. A key publication I led is Media Architecture Compendium Vol.2 – Concepts, Methods, Practice, which draws from academic research and global case studies to provide an evolutionary perspective on the concepts, methods, and practices of media architecture and interaction design.In addition to my academic work, I bring over 15 years of experience as a consultant on a range of community and infrastructure projects in local government, road, rail, water, telecommunications, and energy sectors. My consulting work is focused on developing and facilitating community engagement programs across Australia, aimed at enhancing collaboration with various stakeholders and improving strategic decision-making.I am the co-chair of the annual Community Engagement Summit, which convenes leading practitioners and scholars from various sectors, including local and state government, industry, and academia. I am also a founding member of the Urban Interfaces group at The University of Sydney, where we investigate the application of emerging technologies in cities.
