Managed the State of New Jersey's Urban Enterprise Zone in the City of Newark, New Jersey from August 2002 until August 2007. Covering 2.3 square miles of Newark's 24 square miles land mass, my office administered UEZ business certification for 850 qualified retail and nonretail organizations. Milestones included investment of the City's 12 Million Dollar Enterprise Zone Trust Fund, to strengthen UEZ physical infrstructure, support redevelopment planning within the Zone and implement high priority public private ventures such as the Passaic Riverfront Park, the New Jersey Performing Arts Center Housing and Retail Development Project, the Downtown Core (Prudential Area) Development Project and neighborhood streetscaping investment. Under my leadership, over 5,000 jobs were created, major public projects were completed such as the Prudential Center (arena), upgrade of the Broad Street streetscape and the beginning of a $10 Million Dollar downtown streetscape project through the Newark Downtown District took place.

As Deputy Executive Director and Acting Executive Director of the Newark Economic Development Corporation (NEDC) Facilitate financing and public approvals for public/private financing incentives by commercial lenders, Federal and New Jersey (Economic Development Authority - NJEDA). Accomplishments include: the Prudential Arena, FBI Headquarters on Passaic River, Applebys Restaurant and Home Depot, Development. Developed comprehensive plan for development of the Passaic River waterfront in Newark, the former Pabst Brewery site on South Orange Avenue, planning for the Newark Airport Support Zone, publication of the Beth Israel Medical Center Neighborhood Redevelopment Concept Plan, management of the Newark Urban Enterprise Zone and other commercial and industrial real estate development and public infrastructure projects from 1989 until 2002.
