I locate family members and relatives of children that have recently entered foster care in order to place these children in homes with their relatives. I also connect foster children with natural supports that will follow them through foster care and remain with them after they have exited care.

I work within St. Louis to ensure the safety of children in foster care by providing them services and appropriate foster homes, assisting biological parents in reunifying with their children, reporting and advocating for children in court, and acting as the point person on each case for a team that includes a juvenile officer, GAL, therapists, and family members.

As a fellow, I receive professional development through speakers, classes and projects and implement those skills in a challenging urban work environment. As a staff member of a workforce development program run by CrossPurpose and it's sister organization Upstream Impact, I teach computer skills to program participants who are on a journey towards success in a professional career.

As the director of Training Camp, I was in charge of leading a small team through facilitating 8 week long soft skill programs to adults in northeast Denver. I led weekly staff meetings, was in charge of scheduling and communicating with guest speakers who came in to teach, and worked with program participants to ensure their success and preparedness for a job after completing Training Camp

As a Member Engagement Intern with the energetic and innovative Spire team, I creatively interacted with members on Spire's social media platform. My job was to increase activity, and I mean that in all senses. Spire is a social media platform that encourages healthy living through rewarding accomplishments of its users, and I encouraged activity on the web and in the gym. I also problem solved customer requests as the scope of Spire's reach expanded rapidly.

As an intern with Grace for Dover, I researched the impacts of their financial literacy course and their job training program upon program participants. As part of the research process I created an interview schedule, persistently contacted and set up interviews with 30 participants, compiled and analyzed the data, and presented my findings of the impact of the organization's programs before the Grace for Dover Board of Directors.
